The Alexander Technique

Finding what you forgot you lost

The Alexander Technique is one of the original types of somatic work. Created by F.M. Alexander (1869-1969), a Tasmanian actor who struggled with his own posture, voice, and breathing, the technique is an awareness based set of tools to regain your natural poise, movement, and stature. Nothing is as effective to address breathing difficulties. The hands-on work teaches a new coordination by giving awarness of unconscious habits of tension and mal-coordination.

One of our international organizations, The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, explains more in its website. Click to read more about what the Alexander Technique is.
